O nosso hotel em Chiang Mai foi escolhido a dedo – afinal, tinha que ser um hotel memorável para a comemoração de 1 mês da VAM, justamente no dia da nossa ida de Bangkok para Chiang Mai. Como a idéia era comemorar, decidimos afrouxar um pouco os limites do orçamento inicial e levantar o teto do valor da diária de US$ 100 para US$ 150.
Partimos do zero nessa busca, literalmente. Não tínhamos nenhuma dica, nem umazinha mesmo, de hospedagem em Chiang Mai. A saída, então, foi apelar para uma trinca imbatível: intuição + bom senso + Trip Advisor.
Foi navegando no Trip Advisor, xeretando todos os hotéis disponíveis para as nossas datas, que Paulinho descobriu o Hotel Ping Nakara, na época o no. 2 de Chiang Mai no ranking do Trip Advisor.
As resenhas eram muito animadoras, e as fotos do hotel, tanto no site próprio quanto no Booking, lindíssimas. A diária estava ainda um pouco acima dos limites da nossa comemoração, mas decidimos “coçar o bolso” e fizemos a reserva, a US$ 165 por noite.

Desde o momento em que chegamos ao hotel vimos que a decisão tinha sido acertada. O hotel era realmente tão ou ainda mais bonito do que nas fotos!

Desde o momento em que entramos no hotel notamos o cuidado com a ambientação e os detalhes.
Recepção
Um detalhe do serviço que me encantou foi que fizemos o nosso check-in confortavelmente acomodados na biblioteca – nada dessa história de ficar de pé no balcão da recepção… 😉

Na própria biblioteca, o hotel oferece dois computadores com acesso à Internet para uso dos hóspedes – gratuitamente, assim como o acesso wifi em todo o hotel.

Ficamos encantados com a decoração do quarto, com o cuidado na escolha das cores e materiais. Lá mesmo descobrimos que o dono do hotel é um arquiteto de interiores, que planejou cada quarto individualmente – ou seja, cada ambiente é único! 😉

A área externa do hotel também nos encantou – já no primeiro dia, passamos o fim da tarde na piscina. O hotel estava relativamente vazio, então tivemos a piscina só para nós!

Mais tarde, tivemos novamente essa sensação de privacidade / exclusividade ao fazer, no restaurante do hotel, o jantar de comemoração de 1 mês da VAM. Não havia mais do que outros 3 ou 4 hóspedes presentes, tanto no jantar quanto no café da manhã do dia seguinte.
O jantar da primeira noite estava tão gostoso que decidimos até repetir a dose na noite seguinte. Dizendo assim, parece até falta de criatividade… Mas quais seriam as chances de retornar a Chiang Mai e saborear novamente aquele jantarzinho tailandês delicioso? Preferimos repetir a dose logo de uma vez… 😉

A conclusão final é que simplesmente AMAMOS o Ping Nakara! No ranking particular da VAM, ele recebeu o prêmio de hotel mais charmoso de toda a viagem.
Em um comentário lá no Arquivo de Viagens, a Luisa, que também se hospedou lá, comentou que os funcionários do hotel tinham pouco domínio do inglês. Nós notamos isso também com alguns funcionários da recepção, tanto que o guia, quando nos trouxe do aeroporto, nos ajudou (e aos funcionários) no momento do check-in. Como, na hora do check-out, também tínhamos uma guia para ajudar, não tivemos maiores entraves. No restaurante, nos comunicamos em inglês sem nenhum problema.
Um outro ponto que deixa um pouco a desejar é a localização do hotel, fora das muralhas do centro histórico, ou seja, um pouquinho distante para turistar. Para quem gosta muito de caminhar, como nós, não é nada demais – para os que não têm esse hábito, a solução é tomar um tuk-tuk… 😉
De todo modo, são apenas pequenos detalhes que mostram que nenhum lugar é perfeito! Mas acredito que, mesmo com essas pequenas dificuldades, o hotel seja dos melhores lugares para se hospedar em Chiang Mai. Ganha a nossa recomendação! 😉
